Its mastermind, Walter Sahli, decided to continue his father's legacy of toy making by steering it in the direction of model trains. Pioneering the WESA name, these toys offered a light escape despite the darkness of the war. Endowed with Swiss precision and a meticulous attention to detail, Walter Sahli's trains quickly gained a reputation for their astounding quality. As the icing on the cake, Wesa was the only toy manufacturing company to specifically focus on 1:100 scale models of Swiss trains, leading to its unique niche in the market. The company pumped out steam as a successful business until 1984, whereupon operations came to a halt. However, Wesa's forty-year run left an indelible mark on the toy industry, with its model trains hailed as collectible masterpieces.
