Wells was a well-loved British brand recognized for its mechanical tin toys and comic character toys. With iconic selections from transportation models to cartoon figures, there isn't a genre this brand didn't touch. Known particularly for vibrant colors and high play-value, as well as meticulous attention to detail, Wells toys are a cherished piece of childhood nostalgia.

Founded in 1922 by W.H. Wells and Arthur C. Gilbert, the Wells company journeyed through the enchanting world of toy making. W.H. Wells previously worked at the Tudor Rose toy factory and brought his expertise to play in this new venture. During WWII, their factory switched to war work, but by 1946, they were back to the joy of toy production. In 1965, Wells merged with Brimtoy, another iconic British toy maker. Interestingly, their composite name 'Wells-Brimtoy' had a brief shelf life as they became a part of the Lines Brothers group in 1967. Many collectors relish the chance to own a piece of history from Wells, a beacon of British toy history.
