Takatoku
Takatoku Toys was a Japanese maker of character toys, including combining robots and transforming mecha. Its 1/55 VF-1 Valkyrie toys for Macross transformed between aircraft and robot forms. The first VF-1J appeared in November 1982, followed by additional Valkyrie variants and armor and super-parts. The original series combined articulated transformation mechanisms with ratcheted joints. Production of the Takatoku line ended when the company went bankrupt in May 1984.

The story of Takatoku
Takatoku Toys made its grand entrance into the toy industry in 196. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, this toy company started to gain recognition with its die-cast metal toys. The brand shot to prominence with the release of their Z-Gokin series and the globally famous "Macross" line. A little-known fact is, Takatoku Toys was the first to sell "Macross" merchandise before any other brands, making it an early pioneer in anime-inspired toys. Unfortunately, despite its continued popularity among collectors, Takatoku Toys faced financial difficulties and had to close its doors in 1984 - but its legacy lives on.
