S.H. Japan is a vintage Japanese toy manufacturer known for its tinplate battery-operated toys, especially space-themed items. Their colorful designs and intricate mechanisms make them highly collectible today.

S.H. (often marked as “SH” or with the diamond-SH logo) was an active Japanese toy brand during the 1950s–1970s. Based in post-war Japan, S.H. focused on battery-operated tin toys with themes like space exploration, transportation, and robotics. These toys were often exported to Western markets, capturing the imagination of children with blinking lights, moving parts, and detailed lithography.

Their “Space Capsule” toys in particular became symbolic of the space race era, blending mid-century industrial design with playful futurism. The original boxes, often featuring astronauts and bold typography, are now almost as collectible as the toys themselves.
