Rokopf Miniaturemodelle

Roskopf Miniaturmodelle was a German maker of miniature vehicles, founded by Marcel Roskopf in 1955. Its early range included 1:100 military vehicles, horse-drawn vehicles and construction equipment. From 1982, the company added 1:87 civilian lorries, beginning with Swiss Saurer models and later including German and French makes. A Nostalgie series of 1920s and 1930s vehicles followed in 1988. Sieper-Werke took over the company in 1994, and selected Roskopf models appeared in WIKING catalogues.

The story of Rokopf Miniaturemodelle

Marcel Roskopf established Roskopf Miniaturmodelle in 1955. Its first range included model cars, followed by 1:100 military vehicles based on Bundeswehr vehicles, horse-drawn vehicles and construction equipment. In 1958 the business moved to Traunreut, Bavaria, and in 1964 it established new premises in Traunstein. The company worked with outside manufacturers for production.

In 1982 Roskopf began a civilian 1:87 lorry range with Swiss Saurer vehicles. German and French makes were added, and by 1987 the programme comprised about 160 items. A Nostalgie line of vehicles from the 1920s and 1930s began in 1988.

The Sieper family established a new Roskopf GmbH in 1991, as Marcel Roskopf’s original business was wound down. WIKING’s official history dates Sieper-Werke’s takeover to 1994 and notes that Roskopf and WIKING products appeared together in the catalogue that year. Selected Roskopf models, including Nostalgie vehicles, continued in WIKING catalogues into the late 1990s.
