Pola
Description
Pola was a German manufacturer of model railway buildings, scenery, and accessories, specializing in HO, N, and G scales. The company was known for its high-quality, detailed plastic kits, including stations, houses, factories, and urban structures that complemented model train layouts.
Pola’s G-scale buildings were particularly popular among LGB (Lehmann Gross Bahn) enthusiasts, as they provided realistic, durable outdoor structures for large-scale garden railways.
Pola was founded in 1957 in Germany and quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of model railway scenery and structures. The company gained recognition for its detailed injection-molded plastic kits, offering a wide range of buildings for different railway eras and settings.
In 1997, Pola was acquired by Faller, another major German model railway accessory company. While Pola-branded products were gradually phased out, Faller continued to produce and distribute many of Pola’s original kits under its own branding. Today, vintage Pola kits remain highly collectible, particularly among G-scale modelers.
