The story of Pioner Expressen
Pioner Expressen was a Danish maker of electric toy trains associated with Knud Petersen. A Danish toy-factory directory for 1954 lists Knud Petersen in Birkerød under the heading for manufacturers of electric trains. The 1969 directory lists Pionerekspressen with Petersen in Birkerød. These entries document the maker in the Danish toy trade in both years. Danmarks Jernbanemuseum later presented an exhibition on Pionér Expressen and described it as a Danish electric toy train. Collectors identify its trains as O-gauge; examples of the brand’s 0-gauge models were also displayed at a Dutch vintage railway collectors’ meeting in 2022.
