The story of Philotrain
Philotrain’s production overview records models from 1972. The company’s current history dates its establishment to 1 January 1976 and describes more than 45 years of professional brass model-making based on Dutch railway prototypes. Its model range included H0 and 0 gauge, with a smaller venture into IIm. The company issued its 41st edition of Philosophie in 2002; edition 42 later documented model series produced after 2002.
Philotrain stopped producing ready-to-run models in 2021. The brand continues under Scaletrading, which sells second-hand Philotrain models and brass parts for builders, particularly in 0 gauge. Its official site also lists some H0 parts and offers hand-built models from Philotrain and other small-series makers. The published production overview extends through 2020.
