The story of Oma

Manuel Hojman’s metalworking and tinware business dates to 1906. The toy line associated with him became known as OMA. Its range included tin moneyboxes, carousel toys and other sheet-metal playthings; later products also included car models and summer toys such as buckets and watering cans. OMA’s carousel was reissued several times.

The toys used different finishes. Some were decorated with lithography, while others were enamelled or left unpainted. The Argentine toy history recorded by Juguetes del Ayer describes the later carousel reissues as having lower-quality lithography. The factory closed in 1980.
