Russian producer of tinplate cars and trains

Mosgormestprom (Moscow City Local Industries Trust) was an industrial organisation in Moscow in the Soviet-era, probably founded in the 1930s and producing various equipment, amongst which were household goods like typewriters, gas detectors, gas stoves, razors and refrigerators. In their Plant No. 1 they also made tinplate toy cars with and without a clockwork mechanism and a clockwork-driven tumbling gymnast.

Around 1950 Plant 1 also developed an 0 gauge clockwork train, consisting of a steam-outline 0-4-0 locomotive with tender and three eight-wheel goods cars: an open wagon, a van (box car) and a tank wagon, with an oval of track. It is not known how long this set was in production, nor the number produced. Seeing its rarity compared to the other Soviet 0 gauge train set, made by Moskabel, production must have been limited.
