Maker record

MMM-RG

MMM-RG was a French maker of H0-scale model railway rolling stock, founded in 1969 by Robert Guérin after his work with SMCF. Its range included passenger and baggage coaches based on French railway prototypes. Guérin moved from SMCF’s cast-metal construction to plastic, using the material for detailed models. The brand’s tooling later served to produce coaches under the Electrains name.

The story of MMM-RG

Robert Guérin founded MMM-RG in 1969 after directing SMCF, a French model railway maker. Under MMM-RG he made H0-scale passenger coaches, including models of French railway prototypes such as the Night Ferry baggage van. The range used plastic bodies, a change from SMCF’s cast-metal passenger cars.

MMM-RG operated for approximately four or five years. After the brand’s production period, the same tooling was used for coaches sold under the Electrains name.
