Mira
Mira was a Spanish maker of die-cast toy vehicles, producing miniature cars and trucks from the early 1970s through 2000. Its range included small Pegaso trucks, 1:66 scale cars and a 1:43 collection of contemporary European vehicles, with police, rally and emergency-service versions. In the 1990s Mira expanded into larger models, including 1:18 scale cars and American classics. Its 1:43 models featured details such as opening doors, metal bases, suspension and plastic lights.

The story of Mira
Mira’s founders, Francisco Mira Brotóns and José Antonio Mira Guillem, had worked at the Payá toy factory and established Juguetes Carrusel in 1967. After the venture changed direction, the factory produced zamac parts, chiefly metal buckles, for the footwear industry. In 1972 the firm presented its Pegaso truck under the Mira name and shifted to toy production. New factory buildings followed in 1975 as demand grew.
Mira expanded its truck range and introduced 1:66 scale cars before launching a 1:43 collection in 1977. The initial cars included the Mercedes 450 SEL, Volkswagen Scirocco, Seat 1200 and Seat 131; later releases added models such as the Citroën CX, Seat 128, Ford Fiesta and Chrysler 150. The range used multiple finishes and service, rally and equipment variants. Mira’s 1:43 cars had features including opening doors, metal bases, suspension and plastic lights.
The company later broadened its production and reached a larger international market with 1:18 scale models in the mid-1990s. Production ended in 2000. Solido briefly sold Mira’s 1:18 models, while Scale Carr reissued modified versions of some 1:43 models from 2001.
