Minitrix
Minitrix is a German model railway line developed by Trix, specializing in electrically powered N-scale trains. Introduced in 1964 at 1:160 scale, the line brought locomotives and other railway models to a compact format. Minitrix continues as the name for Trix’s N-scale models, which include locomotives such as the Dutch NS 1127.

The story of Minitrix
Minitrix began as a line within Trix, a German model railway maker. The Railway Museum in Utrecht describes it as a division of Trix and dates its founding to the late 1960s. Märklin’s published Trix history records the 1964 introduction of Minitrix at 1:160 scale as an electrically powered N-scale railway. These dates refer to different milestones: the museum’s broad founding estimate and the documented product launch.
Minitrix models include locomotives for N-scale layouts. The Railway Museum’s collection includes a Minitrix model of the Dutch NS 1127, identified as one of the smallest train models in the collection. The line remains associated with Trix’s N-scale products.
