The story of MFI Modellflug
Modellflug International (MFI) is a German specialist magazine covering model aviation. It is published by Modellsport Verlag, which was founded in Baden-Baden in 1977 by Hans Rost and Heinz Ongsieck. The publisher describes MFI as covering the full range of model-flight sport, including radio-controlled models, fixed-wing aircraft and historically accurate models.
The publishing programme expanded with ROTOR in 1989, a magazine devoted to model helicopters, and JetPower in 2001, covering jet, ducted-fan and turbine modelling in German and English editions. The publisher later added outdoor and travel titles, while MFI remains part of its model-flight magazine portfolio. Recent MFI issue contents include event reports, equipment tests, market surveys, electric and jet models, and scale documentation.
