Lone Star is an iconic British company known predominantly for its diecast miniature toys. The company notably specialized in model railways, military figures, and action toys, but is most famous for its intricate diecast model cars. Produced with attention to detail, realism, and quality, Lone Star's offerings were a perfect match for both playful children and discerning collectors alike.

Founded in 1951 by Aubrey Robert Mills and situated in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, Lone Star evolved out of the Die Casting Machine Tools Ltd (DCMT), a company that at first produced die-casting machinery. However, recognizing the burgeoning toy market post-World War II, it shifted to toy production. The echo of war perhaps influenced a lot of Lone Star's initial toy offerings, which were military in style. In 1956, it struck gold with the introduction of its OOO scale model railway items, which were more affordable than other brands on the market. Over time though, the company expanded to a diverse range of toys including Cowboys, Indians, and even outer space-themed toys. The company ceased operations in 1988, leaving behind it a legacy of charming and detailed creations cherished by collectors.
