Kenner
Description
Kenner, a treasured name in the world of toys, is synonymous with its diverse array of models, action figures, and playsets. Best known for its licensed merchandise from popular franchises such as Star Wars, Batman, and Jurassic Park, Kenner chased the imagination of children with toys that appeared ripped straight from the screen.
Established as Kenner Products in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, by Joseph, Albert, and Philip Steiner in 1947, Kenner had a gripped start. In the beginning, the company produced soap and bubble solutions. A breakthrough moment arrived in 1957 when Kenner introduced the Bubbl-Matic Gun. The name "Kenner" itself holds a close-knit backstory, being derived from the Steiner brothers family-owned Kenner Street. Kenner soared into strangers' dimension when they scored the licensing rights for Star Wars toys in 1977 - a landmark move that set them apart as a tour de force in the toy industry. Interesting fact: when the 1977 Star Wars movie release was moved up 6 months, Kenner's toy production couldn't keep up, leading to one of the most famed Christmas promotions - an empty box 'Early Bird Certificate Package' with a promise to send the toys later.
