Husky
Description
Husky is a historic toy brand, renowned for its production of high-quality die-cast model cars. Often miniature replicas of much-loved racing or luxury cars, these toys were adored by children and cultivated a vigorous following among collectors due to their precision, attention to detail, and authenticity. The genius of Huskey lies in their ability to infuse an element of genuine automobile design into a tiny, handheld toy, sparking imagination and the joy of play.
Originally a sub-brand of Mettoy Playcraft, a British toy manufacturer, Husky was unveiled to the world in 1964. This toy brand was launched to compete with the American brand Matchbox, which was dominating the small-scale toy car market at the time. Husky offered a similar product, but its unique selling point was the special spring suspension feature in the models, which set it apart. To challenge their competitors further, they began releasing models of cars from television shows, adding another layer of allure to these already captivating toys. The brand later changed its name to Corgi Juniors in 197 and continued to garner popularity till the late 198s.
