Description
Horikawa is a renowned Japanese toy brand that specializes in the production of robot toys. Horikawa got its start in the 195s, right after the end of WWII and during a time when Japan was rejuvenating itself technologically. Founded by Yoshiya Kobayashi, the brand was initially called Marumiya. Horikawa came into the picture in 1959 when Kobayashi's son-in-law took over the company. The Horikawa golden age reached its peak from the late 196s through to the 197s when the brand introduced Rotat-O-Matic robots which fascinated the world. Interesting fact: Horikawa robots are commonly found in many films and TV series as props due to their distinct and stimulating design.
