Founded in 1930 by Johannes Graupner, the company initially focused on model airplane kits. By the 1950s, Graupner had expanded into RC systems, pioneering advancements in the hobby industry. Their products were known for German engineering quality and were distributed worldwide.
In the early 2000s, Graupner faced financial struggles due to increased competition from Asian manufacturers. The company declared bankruptcy in 2012, and its assets were acquired by the South Korean company SJ Propo, which continues to produce products under the Graupner name. Despite the change in ownership, vintage Graupner models remain highly valued among collectors and RC hobbyists.
