Electrains was a name used for French H0 passenger cars made with tooling previously used by MMM-RG. The range included cars representing French railway prototypes, including SNCF and CIWL stock. Its documented place in French model-railway production follows MMM-RG’s short run in the early 1970s.

The story of Electrains
MMM-RG was founded in 1969 by Robert Guérin, formerly director of SMCF. It made H0 passenger cars using plastic after moving away from cast metal. MMM-RG existed for about four or five years; afterward, the same tooling was used for cars under the Electrains name. This links Electrains to the later use of MMM-RG tooling in French H0 passenger-car production.
