Elastolin, originally known as "Lineol", was-founded in the heart of Germany, Brandenburg an der Havel, in 1906. The company was established by Oskar Wiederholz, driven by his passion for toys and a vision for innovative design. The brand's transformation to "Elastolin" happened in 1912 after a newly introduced production process. The composition material used to make the figures—derived from a mix of sawdust, kaolin, and animal glue—became a defining feature of Elastolin. An intriguing fact about Elastolin is that the brand had to halt production during World War II due to material shortages, but it returned with a bang in the 195s. This is the era when most of the most sought-after Elastolin collectibles were created.
