Eko
EKO was a Spanish maker of plastic miniature vehicles, founded in Barcelona in 1956 by Industrias Blasco. Its range included civilian and military vehicles in H0 scale (1:87), mainly for children and railway dioramas, as well as period cars in 1:43 scale. The catalogue covered passenger cars, lorries and military vehicles, alongside figures and diorama accessories. Plastic was the defining material of the range, in contrast to contemporary miniatures made from zamak.

The story of Eko
EKO began in Barcelona in 1956 as a brand of Industrias Blasco. It made plastic miniatures for children and railway layouts, with H0 scale (1:87) its main scale. The range included contemporary cars such as the Seat 600 and Renault 4, lorries based on Ford, Magirus, Pegaso and Mercedes vehicles, and military versions of cars and trucks. EKO also produced period cars in 1:43 scale, figures, fences and small buildings for dioramas.
During the 1960s, EKO became one of Spain’s best-known miniature makers. Its catalogue drew on products and moulds from other manufacturers. After Anguplás closed in 1967, EKO took on some of its models, later offering selected Anguplás H0 classics in kits in 1979 and 1980. EKO changed its passenger-car packaging in 1964, introducing individual clear display boxes; later formats included acetate covers and bags. In the early 1980s, Toyeko was used for miniatures and accessories, while Eko 2000 covered special series commissioned by companies. Toy Eko, S.L. later sold classic models and new versions under the EKO name.
