Crescent
Crescent Toys was a British toy manufacturer whose products included hollow-cast lead figures, diecast vehicles, toy guns and plastic figures. It began in a workshop in De Beauvoir Crescent, London, and later moved production to Cwmcarn, Wales. Before the Second World War, demand for its hollow-cast figures prompted three relocations within London. After the war, Crescent turned to diecast toys, with the diecasting undertaken by Die Casting Machine Tools Ltd. Its post-war range also included a toy based on the television character Muffin the Mule.

The story of Crescent
Crescent Toys began in a small workshop in De Beauvoir Crescent, London. As demand grew for its hollow-cast lead figures, the company moved three times before the Second World War, eventually reaching premises in Tottenham.
After the war, Crescent turned its attention to diecast toys, with nearby Die Casting Machine Tools Ltd (DCMT) undertaking the diecasting. In 1949, Crescent opened a factory in Cwmcarn, Wales, using development grants. Production had transferred there within two years. Around the same time, DCMT split from Crescent and began making and marketing toys under its Lone Star brand. Crescent's postwar products included diecast vehicles, toy guns and plastic figures, as well as a toy based on the television character Muffin the Mule.
