Bullmark
Description
Bullmark was a prominent Japanese toy company known for its iconic kaiju (monster) toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The brand gained recognition for producing licensed figures from the Toho universe, including Godzilla and Baragon, in both soft vinyl and tinplate formats.
Bullmark (ブリキのブルマァク) was founded in 1969 by former employees of Marusan, another major Japanese toy maker. The company quickly became known for its high-quality soft vinyl (sofubi) and tinplate toys based on characters from Japanese tokusatsu films and TV shows.
During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Bullmark produced licensed figures from Toho Studios, including Godzilla, Baragon, Ultraman monsters, and many others. These toys often featured mechanical actions, bold lithography, and bright colors. Some models were battery-operated or remote-controlled, like the tinplate Baragon shown here.
Bullmark ceased operations in 1977, but its toys remain extremely collectible, especially rare battery-operated tin models and early vinyl kaiju.
