BTTB
Berliner TT-Bahnen (BTTB) was the name used by a Berlin model railway maker whose roots lay in Zeuke & Wegwerth KG. Its principal products were TT gauge model railway trains and accessories in the 1:120 scale, including locomotives, rolling stock and sets. The range was developed for compact home layouts and included models for domestic markets and export. In 1972 the company became the state-owned VEB Berliner TT-Bahnen; after reunification it returned to private ownership as Berliner TT-Bahnen Zeuke GmbH.

The story of BTTB
Zeuke & Wegwerth KG developed TT model railway products in Berlin. The Museumsportal Berlin dates the beginning of its TT development effort to 1957, describing a compact 1:120 system intended for mass production and home layouts. A specialist chronology dates the company’s TT railway beginnings to 1959. These milestones describe TT development and railway production rather than establishing the company’s founding date.
In 1972, Zeuke & Wegwerth was nationalized and became VEB Berliner TT-Bahnen. The company produced locomotives, rolling stock and railway sets for domestic use and export. In 1990 the enterprise was reprivatized as Berliner TT-Bahnen Zeuke GmbH, with Werner Zeuke as managing director. C. Parisel took over management in 1991, and in 1992 the company acquired accessories maker VERO. After the GmbH filed for bankruptcy in 1993, Tillig took it over and formed Berliner TT-Bahnen Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. The BTTB name then passed out of use as production continued under successor ownership.
