The story of Best Box
In January 1968, production of Best Box models transferred to the Fonds Sociale Instellingen (FSI) in Heerlen. The transfer followed efforts to find replacement work as Limburg’s mines closed during the 1960s. Best Box moved to the De Beitel industrial area in Heerlen, and soon took the name Efsi Toys, based on the institution’s abbreviation. Early Efsi models were made with Best Box moulds and marked “efsi HOLLAND” beneath the running boards.
