Bascou
Bascou was a French maker of electric model railway locomotives and passenger cars. Its work followed the Antal range, including Pacific type 231 steam locomotives based on French railway prototypes. Bascou models included green, detailed versions with a redesigned mechanism, and later variants with lighting, revised motors and wheels. The range also included an OCEM-style coach. These products were made for railway modellers in 00 and H0 scales.

The story of Bascou
Bascou took over the Antal business in 1961 and continued its line of French steam-locomotive models under its own name. Its principal product was a Pacific PLM locomotive, developed in green, highly detailed versions with a new mechanism and a guide flange on the middle driving axle. Bascou also offered an OCEM-style sheet-metal passenger car. The locomotives appeared in 231-H and 231-C forms, with differences in smoke deflectors and superheaters.
By 1966, advertisements offered a 231-G with lighting, a new motor, rilsan wheels and a brass worm drive. A specialist railway-history account reports that production ended in 1967 and the company’s equipment was auctioned in 1968. A collector reference records Bascou 231 models for 1961–1968, so the end of production is not established consistently.
