Antal
Antal was a French maker of model railway equipment. Its products included a Pacific-type PLM electric locomotive, passenger cars, and train sets for the 00/H0 market. Introduced in 1943, the Pacific had a cast zamak body and was designed by artisan Vuillaume. Later versions gained lighting and additional boiler detail, while the range also included Vuillaume passenger cars and an OCEM-type tinplate car. From 1961, artisan Bascou took over the business and offered revised Pacific models under the Bascou name.

The story of Antal
Antal began production in 1943 with a Pacific-type PLM locomotive. Artisan Vuillaume designed the cast-zamak model, which Antoine Alaverdhi manufactured and marketed; the brand name combines the beginning of Alaverdhi's first and last names. The first black version ran on 20 volts. By 1949, a direct-current version appeared in advertisements, and the firm was based at 48 rue Vital in Paris. From 1949, Vuillaume passenger cars were sold with the locomotive in train sets. Versions were offered with front lighting and extra boiler pipes, including a more extensively detailed model.
From 1961, artisan Bascou took over the Antal business. He offered the Pacific in green with a new mechanism, along with an OCEM-type tinplate car. The locomotive appeared in 231-H and 231-C forms with different fittings. Advertisements in 1966 showed a 231G with lighting, a new motor, revised wheels, and a brass worm drive. The firm's equipment was auctioned in 1968.
