A Unimog narrow enough for the potato rows
About this itemWiking truck 1/90 scale Mercedes Unimog 411 (clear windows) #37The early Unimog was designed around work in the fields as well as travel on the road. Mercedes-Benz’s archive points out that its track width allowed it to run between rows of potatoes.
The 411 arrived in 1956 as the successor to the 401 and 402. Its 30 hp engine offered more power, while all-wheel drive, differential locks and portal axles retained the Unimog’s off-road layout. Short and long wheelbases were available.
Wiking’s small green no. 37 reduces the vehicle to a few recognisable details: an upright clear windscreen, an open load bed, a spare wheel tucked below it and a driver wearing a pale hat. Our museum records this plastic version at 1:90.
Did one of these little farm vehicles have a job on your layout?
