The little dog inside Corgi’s Ghia L6.4

Corgi’s Ghia L6.4 included a small reminder of who made the toy: a moulded Corgi dog lying on the rear parcel shelf. The company singles out that detail in its own history of the range.

Our museum example is model no. 241, with metallic green bodywork and a cream interior. Its long, low bonnet and broad windscreen give it quite a different appearance from the everyday British saloons with which Corgi began.

The full-size car belonged to a very different market. At its Scottsdale auction on 27 January 2023, Bonhams sold a 1962 Chrysler Ghia L6.4 for US$577,000 including premium.
