Manamo (Manufacturas Nacionales de Modelismo)
Manamo was a Spanish toy maker based in Barcelona. It began by making wooden trucks and soon added 0-gauge toy trains. The company also produced a lower-priced train line under the Treco name. Its train production formed part of Spain’s postwar toy industry, when workshops and factories made both wooden and tinplate toys.

The story of Manamo (Manufacturas Nacionales de Modelismo)
Enric Pareto Homs (1891–1961) founded Manamo in 1940, in the postwar period. The Barcelona firm first made wooden trucks and soon turned to 0-gauge trains. It also produced less expensive trains under the Treco name.
Manamo’s move from wooden vehicles to model trains placed it among the Spanish toy makers that emerged around the beginning of the 1940s. The Museu d'Història de la Joguina dates the firm’s closure to 1953. This chronology places its end in the early postwar toy-making period, before the wider shift toward plastic toys described in the museum’s account of the Spanish industry.
