The story of Bar Knight
Bar-Knight Model Engineering Co. Ltd. was based in Glasgow and is listed as having been formed as the manufacturing arm of the Clyde Model Dockyard. The Dockyard commissioned models from Bar Knight and shared a senior staff member with the company; it also sold railway products by other makers, including Carette, Märklin, Bing and Hornby.
Bar-Knight made scale model locomotives and steam engines. A 1925 advertisement offered a gauge 0 Bar Knight steam locomotive with four wagons and track. The surviving references identify the maker's Glasgow connection and its relationship with the Dockyard, but provide little further production chronology.
