Timpo Toys was born in the heart of London, UK, in 1938. Founded by Sally Gawrylowicz, the brand sprouted as 'Toy Importers Company', creatively abbreviated to Timpo. The brand took a distinctive turn in 1946 when it started crafting intricate diecast military and civilian figures, etching its name in the memory of vintage toy collectors worldwide. By 1955, Timpo delved into the world of plastic toys, becoming famous for their range of cowboys and Indians. A change in ownership in 1978 led to the adoption of a novel technique of multi-part moulding, adding a unique edge to their offerings. Timpo ceased production in 1981, leaving behind a rich legacy of toys that continue to fascinate collectors.
