The story of LGB

Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk introduced the Lehmann-Gross-Bahn (LGB) in 1968. A 2018 anniversary catalogue recalls its debut at the Nuremberg Toy Fair and attributes the venture to the Richter family. LGB developed as a large-scale railway system for garden use, with products in G scale. The range was designed for indoor and outdoor layouts.

LGB later became part of the Märklin group. A Märklin catalogue states that LGB belonged to Märklin from 2008, while a 2018 catalogue describes Märklin’s continuing development of the range. The LGB name and G-scale railway products remain part of Märklin’s portfolio.
