Prmeta is an iconic toy brand best known for its detailed and mechanized die-cast model car designs. These miniatures were not just aesthetically accurate but also incorporated functions such as opening doors, working steering mechanisms, and moving windshields. The brand enjoyed tremendous popularity in the 195s and 196s, becoming renowned for its focus on German car models.

Founded in 1948 in Cologne, Germany, by businessman Johannes Thsen, Prmeta engaged in the production of model cars post World War II. Their exquisite designs, superior craftsmanship and the signature mechanized functions quickly earned them a prominent spot in the toy industry. The brand's most significant milestone was the launch of the Buick 405 model car in 195, which skyrocketed their fame among collectors and children alike. An interesting fact is that between 1953 and 1956, some Prmeta models were exclusively sold in the UK by Wiking-Modellbau Peltzer.
